Hi all, I recently changed my broadband from virgin option1 to virgin bundle 1 (or something similar, cant remember exactly), anyway I got sent a free wireless kit when I changed. It is a speedtouch 780WL. At the moment I am connecting to the internet via a speedtouch 330 usb modem, it is connected to the desktop pc and I have an ethernet? cable running to the laptop so that can access the internet too. Now, if I want to use the laptop for the internet the main pc must be switched on and connected and I am wondering if I use this wireless kit thingy will I be able to turn the main computer off and still connect the laptop to the internet? I have wireless on both computers but don't mind if I have to use a cable, I would really just like to be able to switch the main pc off on a night when I go to bed but for my husband still to be able to use the laptop upstairs. As both PCs are wireless enabled then it should be no problem to use your wireless kit.

Yes that is the whole point of using a router in place of the modem. Read the user manual for the 780WL to see how to configure it to replace the 330 modem. Remember to setup WPA-PSK encryption if you use the wireless.
