ADVICE - Safest way f taking payment for £10,000 vehicle ?

Hi All

Put my car up for sale and have been looking into safe ways of accepting payments.

Seems NOTHING is safe these days, cheque - no, bank transfer can be reversed, cash - fake....


What do i do ??

    Is this basically a fast bank transfer, heard of scams involving them as well.
  • Go into a bank with the seller and get the cash from sellers account.
    I hate migraines.

    No way would I walk out of a bank with a stranger who knows that I have ("his") £10K in cash on me.

    Pay it into your account before leaving the bank?

    I suppose that would only work if you both used the same bank.

    The only basis to return would be if it was a fraudlent transaction.

    You need to wait till your bank tell you the funds have cleared before releasing the car.

    Faster payments are perfectly safe so you have nothing to worry about
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.
