Gutted! I missed this glitch and this is my favourite face cream. Currently using E45 whilst holding out for a good deal as a fiver for this is too expensive :(

I shall be checking E45 to see if the price in M for 100ml is cheaper than S or T a little later on.

Just noticed [i.e. 40 mins ago when I started writing this post:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:] [edit added 9.20pm], while adding to/deleting from my Tosco/Sains. lists, that a number of the items which were on there, which have risen in price at T in the last few days (and might represent possible DTD opportunities) are now T vs S in comparison terms.

    These include -
    Birds Eye 4 pack Crispy Chicken, now T £3.25, S £1.62 until 29/1/13*, KP Discos Assorted 12 pack, T £2.99 S £1.49 until 29/1, McVities Original Mini Cheddars (12) T £2.99 S £1.49 until 29/1 (I'm ignoring the T multibuy), Hula Hoops Meaty Variety (12x25g) T £2.72 S £1.49 until 29/1 and - as if you'd want this in the current weather - Del Monte 100% Orange Juice Lollies (3) T £2.49 S £1.24 until 12/2.

Others T vs S (including possible fillers) now include:
    T Eday Value Malt Loaf T 28p S n/a
T Green Seedless Grapes loose T 2.49/kg S 2.49/kg (but perhaps one for the greater risk-takers among us)
    Fresh & Naked Big Mixed Leaves 90g T 2 for £1.00 S n/a
Utterly Butterly Original 500g T 90p S n/a (but need to check carefully whether this really is N/A for S (I'm going by MSM))
    Aunt Bessie's Light and Fluffy Dumplings (8, 390g) T £1.00 S £1.00
    Cadbury Crunchie Blast Stick (3x100ml) T £2.99 S £1.50 until 12/2
    T (Frzn) Eday Value Pork Chops 800g T £2.50 S £2.50
    T Cream of Tomato Soup 4x400g T £1.79 S £1.50 until 29/1
    Galaxy Minstrels 290g pouch T £2.99 S £2.00 until 19/2
T Rough Oatcakes 250g T 89p S 79p (but need to check whether a branded version currently on offer in M works out cheaper or not)
Sensodyne Total Care Gentle Mouthrinse 500ml is £2.17 for both T & S but I'm not sure whether it is cheaper in M (due to there being an offer on other Sensodyne but, if there was one on the Mouthrinse, I may have judged it too harshly and excluded it when doing my price list)

I've removed Nature Valley Sweet & Nutty as there is another version cheaper in M at £1.19

The above is T vs S. I'm now putting a marker at this point about an abrupt change in subject. Please don't confuse the following with what I've already said above. It's regarding the Sugar Puffs at T, which, as posted yesterday/the day before(?) - someone took my thunder, not unwelcomely - have now increased in price.

It's cynical how they seem to go up and down between the same prices - and when on offer go to the same low in T, S, M or A - there is no suggestion of any price-fixing but I think it's more psychological and to do with very careful market research into the behaviour of many consumers (who don't study prices and keep switching brands and different pack sizes but buy the same items week in week out) and how they react to pricing across items on their shop - people who, each time they shop, pay higher prices on some things whilst buying special (or not-so-special) offers on others.

Back off my tangent - or tangential diversion - the Sugar Puffs - this is the bigger pack 625g - were mentioned as a possible DTD, which could make them free as they doubled in price. However, I don't think these Sugar Puffs are most likely to give a DTD but rather some other Sugar Puffs instead. This is because the 625g packs - in my T stores at least - were moved into a "half price" end shelving - when they were on £1.49 - whilst other packs of the offer product, in their usual place in the aisles, actually kept their price label of £2.98 even though, at the time, they were £1.49. So, when the offer ends, obviously they have moved the Sugar Puffs away from the end shelves, together with their half price banner labelling and price label, but put back in their aisle place and the price of £2.98 still remained there throughout (in least in one store).

Therefore I think we stand greater chance with the Sugar Puffs 320g rather than the 625g packs. This is because the 320g have been, and still are, on offer at £1.00 - but I noticed these were in a usual aisle place with what might be to some people a less conspicuous offer on them. While the offer on the 320g is no good per g compared to the previous reduction on the 625g packs, it may be that, due to the normal aisle positioning being kept throughout, the 320g offer may be more easily missed by T staff once it ends (currently supposed to be) on 30/1/13 - therefore a possible better chance of a DTD on them ('normal' price £1.99, offer price £1.00). For what it's worth, the 320g Sugar Puffs are currently a Sains BM vs T comp. The 625g at T shouldn't now be bought, and compared to M on the T PP, as M's offer on them has also ended.

Having done my M price obtaining, there seem to be a few T v M items this week, although I won't be getting round to putting details on here tonight. Right, I'm off now to the greater task - sorting out my A vs M comp. list for this week, so I'll bid you goodbye for now - with the items and prices collected, it is time for checking them on MSM.co.uk to see if anyone is cheaper than M and thus putting them on the different saved lists. Once that's done we know which are Avs M and which are Avs T, S or W - and which of them end up on the T vs M list, although I have some idea of which items this is going to be (because, by now, I know which M items are N/A in A but have equivalents in or are stocked by T).

    Goodnight.

    *but cheapest recent price - across T, S & M - has been £1.49.

David. - thanks for thanking me for that uber-long post. Just mention that, at M - probably came too late - they've now put a 2 for £1.50 multibuy on the Smartt Extra Large Refuse Sacks (10s) so works out at 20 for £1.50 rather than the usual 10 for 1.50 (or 10 for £1 when on offer - effectively 75p for 10, although have to buy 2 lots). Non-comparable to A.

I just nipped home for a very quick catch up and a bit of lunch.

Waiting for mum to be taken into hospice. Pain is so severe, something desperately needs to be done for her.

Don't think I will be around much today somehow. Just going back to meet Macmillan nurse at mum's.

Hope everyone else is ok and hugs to everyone who needs them.

Oh tinyshoes I do hope your mum is more comfortable now x

    Gift card update

The £25 prepaid visa in Mr Shoes has an activation fee and will cost £27.95. The £50 costs £53.95

I bought the £25 to test it out and Mr Shoes GCs sold in Argus ARE accepted as payment

The t&cs of the prepaid visa are huge but having read them a couple times nothing says you cant use it to buy more giftcards. The closest it comes is saying you can't buy more than 5 at a time and cant buy more than £2000 in a year

So for example buy 4x£20 giftcards for £60

Then buy a £25 visa for £27.95 and a £50 visa for £53.95 (this will require a further £1.90 cash)

You now have £75 prepaid visas for £61.90

Go back to Argus and buy more Mr Shoes gcs with your prepaid visas

    :D

Right I am trying to get me head aroun this - when I go back to argus to get more shoes cards...clearly I virtually empty the visa cards and then return to shoes.

At this point do I top up the exact same visa cards with no activation fee involved 2nd time around?
