I passed my test last June and was taught, by a qualified instructor, to always move down through the gears to stop at lights, junctions, anywhere except when parking. Also taught to always put car into neutral when parked.

Yes, you should always anticipate the road ahead and slow down as apropriate rather than tearing up to the juction and slamming on the brakes...it also more mse and save on the brakes and fuel:D

I've already booked it but now after considering traveling options I think I would have been better staying further out, whoops. First time to London though and I didn't think it through lol. Just seen national express can get 4 of us back home for 40.00 which is a great price. Megabus will maybe be 7.50 each when prices come out for July. Thanks

you should be able to get a decent deal on the trains if you book now for July:D try http://www.thetrainline.com/

I bought a car up there a couple of years ago and got a one way for £15......buying on the day was almost £100!

Your cakes are lovely and brought back memories of when Lala and her brother were young I was always baking these with all sorts of flavoured butter icing. In those days it was out of necessity home baking it was so much cheaper than getting shop bought cakes. It is so nice to see people going back to cooking from scratch.By the way is your cake stand Royal Albert ?

Yes nanny, it's old country roses? I have the full set. Everything. Tea pots, coffee pots, dinner plates the lot. It's all packed in the loft as there is just too much of it and it doesn't reall y match anything in the kitchen.
    But who knows..... One day......:)

Couldn't resist going to have a look and I recognise quite a few of the names. I used to lurk yolks ago on the Debate thread. Think it's only visible if you are an MSE member or something but it was so funny seeing some of them in their clothes:)
