I've had a nightmare night, firstly I'm still feeling very ill and secondly I got a call to say my dog has killed a cat
He was due to be returned to me at Xmas but I got sick so the guy said he'd keep him until I felt better. He was supposed to bring him this morning but failed to turn up so he said tomorrow afternoon would be fine. I got a call about 6 or 7 ish the guy was in distress I just about managed to make out that a cat had been killed by my dog and he needed to be gone by morning. When I offered to come pick him up straight away the guy said he didn't want me there!
I know this is a bad thing to happen but what I don't understand is why the cat was in the same room as the dog, they know the dog can't be around cats so have always been so careful. What was different tonight?
He said that when he went upstairs the dog was out the back but he heard screams and came downstairs to find the dog and cat in the sitting room. I don't understand how the dog got into the sitting room, if no one is downstairs the dogs aren't allowed to be in there, also if the kitchen door into the sitting room was shut the only way to open it from the kitchen is to pull it and none of the dogs know how to do that as far as I'm aware.
So many questions going round in my head at the moment I'm finding it hard to sleep and also dreading picking him up tomorrow, what else other than sorry can I say to the guy? I know he'll want to tell me the story again and maybe I'll make sense of it but still dreading it
I'm hoping at some point I'll drift off
I can understand you are very upset, but it is not your fault. You were not there when it happened. They should have kept the dog away from the cat if they knew the cat wouldn't be safe in the same room as the dog. xxx0 -
Good morning a cold one here, SD good luck for today I am sorry about the cat but sometimes a dogs basic nature will win over hope it's not too traumatic collecting him, have a good Friday everyone and hope the glitch goblin visits sada or T's:DThe person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0
