  • Did you all find your nice bottles of single malt tonight? :)

    I think I need a drink and I'm teetotal!
I've had a nightmare night, firstly I'm still feeling very ill and secondly I got a call to say my dog has killed a cat :(
He was due to be returned to me at Xmas but I got sick so the guy said he'd keep him until I felt better. He was supposed to bring him this morning but failed to turn up so he said tomorrow afternoon would be fine. I got a call about 6 or 7 ish the guy was in distress I just about managed to make out that a cat had been killed by my dog and he needed to be gone by morning. When I offered to come pick him up straight away the guy said he didn't want me there!
I know this is a bad thing to happen but what I don't understand is why the cat was in the same room as the dog, they know the dog can't be around cats so have always been so careful. What was different tonight?
He said that when he went upstairs the dog was out the back but he heard screams and came downstairs to find the dog and cat in the sitting room. I don't understand how the dog got into the sitting room, if no one is downstairs the dogs aren't allowed to be in there, also if the kitchen door into the sitting room was shut the only way to open it from the kitchen is to pull it and none of the dogs know how to do that as far as I'm aware.

So many questions going round in my head at the moment I'm finding it hard to sleep and also dreading picking him up tomorrow, what else other than sorry can I say to the guy? I know he'll want to tell me the story again and maybe I'll make sense of it but still dreading it :(

I'm hoping at some point I'll drift off

SD, I had typed you a longer message, but it has gone with the forum playing up. You really are having a hard time at the moment, but it will get better. See if you can manage a little sleep tonight, and see what is said tomorrow. Sorry I cant be more help, but I really do wish you well.

I hate to type and run, but I must get to bed, up for work in 5 hours. Have a good night nightshift, and be good. Night all.

I'm also teetotal these days but could understand why you might feel like a drink. As far as I can see you have nothing to be personally be sorry for but naturally you will be sorry for it happening (if you know what I mean:o)...we all would be. As to waht you can do about it..not sure, but try not to lose sleep over it as it's not your fault. Many dogs chase cats. Has the dog done it before? If not how could you have known. Sorry if I'm not being much help here.

The big archos is not so good i believe. Well the one with the keyboard is supposed to be good but the other big one they do has poor reviews. The samsung looks a nice bit of kit but the nexus 7 look s the baby to have.

I just went through an online order at WHS to see if i can pay online with my giftcard but after putting all the delivery details etc in it flatly refuses to go to the payment screen so I'm non the wiser! Interestingly you also get a free £20 giftcard with the purchase.....which if it applies instore too makes it a better deal too.
