I've had 3 cats do exactly this, start off as garden walk bys and then eventually move in as the weather got worse.
Our house is big enough for all cats to ignore eat other if they don't want to see anyone else and everyone can use the litter tray.
Anyone who moves in with us gets a trip to the vets first to see if there is a micro chip, also a health check and they get put in the lost and found book. Eventually if they decide to stay they get chipped, injected, a worming tablet and the flea treatment.
But having said this we don't have a dog to complicate things :rotfl:dreamerbea wrote: »Any cat experts around ?
The stray that I have been giving the occasional meal to know and then must have decided it was too cold to stay outside and actually came into the kitchen. We have 2 cats and a dog - the dog was in the lounge and the door was shut one of our cats was hissing at the stray but they all ended up eating just sat at a respectable distance just eyeing each other up - i left the back door open and I got on cooking the tea when I noticed the stray wander further in and it has gone upstairs. The dog doesn't seem to have sniffed out the guest as yet and the hissing cat I let into the lounge.
I don't know what to do for the best as I don't want to upset all my furry babes but I am worried about the stray and don't want my dog to chase and frighten it - anyone got any helpful advice? I rang hubster and he was as much use as a chocolate fireguard“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
