my g/f got issued with a notice to offer redundancies where she works, 3 months notice to start 7/1
she accepted this offer, got told by xmas she would know 1 way or the other,
called into office for a meeting 8/11 (no union rep against my advice) that she can leave but they had extended the notice period to start 10/1 (today) but could be called to say that they have now withdrawn their offer between that time if they decide to.
she hates the job now and can't wait to move on, but on her day off (today/tomorrow) they have left a voicemail on her own personal number to attend another meeting tomorrow, so no prizes for guessing they will want her to stay on,
they wont issue the new full t&c of the revised contract, but obviously it will leave her out of pocket,
i know folk can't be too choosy these days, but she has already found similar jobs to maintain her current income, but not to lose out on a few k in redundancy pay.
i said to ignore the call, its her 2 days off and if they really wanted to, should call her works pda thingy,
she wont though,
but 1 of the new terms she's sure of is she must be mobile, as now some workers use the bus, others a car with an ever decreasing p/m payment due to running costs,
i just said if you really want out, say no to having a car!
where does she stand legally, as the union are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard!
