More of a rant then anything! CPU fan randmoly stopped meaning burnt out CPU and dead pc... During exam period at uni !!!!!!!!!
WHY oh why would a cpu fan just stop? About 2 years old, but still..... sooo annoying and frustrating. Gotta wait till next week before one gets delivered from the net lol!

I can understand your fraustration, though im not sure why you didn't have the alart switched on in the bios. Most motherboards have a built in temperature alarm which you can turn on / off at certain temperatures.

Well I suppose its my own fault really. There were no beeps but yet the pc kept shutting down. I just kept starting it up again thinking it was a PSU problem but it kept shutting down. Only when I took the side off did I realise.. oops!
Its a socket 478.. ive ordered one off amazon which will do the job.. £15 so not too bad.. willl come with the processor probs.
