Theory test appeals

I've just had my theory test and got the required 30 out of 35 for the multiple choice, but missed my hazard test by 1 point - yes 1 point, which I feel is incorrect. How can I appeal? Thanks.

  • I can understand your frustration, but there does need to be a cut off point. You just need to have more practice at the hazard test. I personally felt physically sick doing this because of the moving bits iykwim.

Many, many people fail at the Harzard perception test, and teh score mark is incredibly low, imo, they need to make it harder.

When you say incorrect do you mean your were incorrectly marked & should have got the passmark or do you mean its unfair that you failed by 1 point?

You can't appeal. You can get some of these hazard perception CD roms and practice, then re-take the test. They don't have to make you pass, it's up to you to pass.

I found the hazard perception test peculiar. If you have never seen the test before, now you have had a little practice on it you will know a little more what it's about. You can click a fair few times (when you see a potential hazard) but if you click randomly all the time a message will pop up saying you got no marks.

  • Take the test again; the trick is to click when you anticipate that you would need to 'change direction or velocity'

I took the theory test 2 weeks after the hazard perception test was added, my driving instructor had no clue what it was but i still managed to pass.

    35 out of 35 - only 100% is good enough :)

I managed to get 35/35 on the first part, but it took a few goes before I cracked the hazzard perception part. The day when I passed I told the man that they had made a lot of money out of me because of the hazzard perception part....he said a lot of people kept coming back for the same reason.

I passed my driving test over 10 years ago, I had a go at the harzard test on cdrom for fun and failed miserably even though i anticipated the harzard miles before it took place. I heard/read that there is a window frame time in which you must click within to score points. The system is alot to be desired and certainly from what i've heard needs to be alot better. My friend who is doing the practice says he gets different scores all the time for virtually clicking near exact time when re-doing the same test over and over again.
  • I suspect one of the biggest problems is people clicking too early because they've 'over anticipated'
