Annoying Triton Electric Shower..

I have one of those Triton showers with the electronic panel.
The annoying feature is that is the water pressure dips then it automatically
shuts down.
However, it is so sensitive that we can't have any water drawn in the house
the same time as the shower is on otherwise it shuts down.
However, it would appear that anyone else using the supply in any of the surrounding houses now has the same affect- which is very frustrating..
I have been on to the manufacturer who has said that unless we re-plumb to run off the main tank and use a pump we are stuck with a very tempermental shower.
I opened up the unit and noticed that there is a pressure sensor that runs off the main water inlet to the shower which also has a power supply- would anyone know if disconnecting the negative supply to it would effectively trun it off?
(I know I can try it, but thought someone else may have been in a similar position and found a way round it).
Thanks for any advice offered.

I dont think you should disconnect the supply to the pressure sensor, this is a saftety device and messing around with it could be dangerous.
There is a few things you could check.
1) is the water supply to your house turned on properly? In our house the valve at the water meter was only partially on so we didn't get maximum flow. We just gave it a few extra turnes to make it come on fully. Also check any other valves you have inside the house.
2) Check for a blockage at the shower unit. There should be a filter near where the cold water feed goes in and sometimes this gets blocked.0 -
Already checked unfortunately!
I know what you mean about messing with the pressure sensor, but unfortunately, our current water pressure is just above the threshold at which the unit will operate- literally just turning on another tap in our house just to a trickle causes it to stop running, coupled with the other users in the vicinity is meaning that the shower experience is now stop star every 30 seconds or so...
(I know its great for conserving water, however.....)0 -
Leave the sensor alone or somebody could get scalded with red hot water !!!
As the OP says check your stop tap is fully on at the meter......there may also be another one in the house as well.
Also check the pipework to the shower there could be an inline valve on it and that may be partly closed.
I dont think it should be that sensitive tho.......is it new ??? sounds to me like it could be a faulty sensor.
Can you get Triton to send you a new one maybe only £25 but would be worth a try if you can fit it yourself.
You could also try doing a flow rate test and comparing it with Tritons specs.
Usually the flow rate is to high not too low.
Thats a thought.......have a look at the install instructions......has somebody installed a flow restrictor ??????0
