Best way to sell my car?

My 307 is now a money pit and am getting rid. My Step dad is currently sorting a brand new replacement. But it wont include a part ex.

So am trying to find the best way to get cash for mine.

Its got 120K on the clock, its a 1.6HDI 110BHP S model.
Theres minor scratches to the body work but the towing cover is missing from the front and theres a sizeable scratch on the back bumper where it was grazed by the wheels of a truck (one of those come out of work and find it times)

The biggy is the repair work. The clutch needs repairing and the flywheel. Plus brake pads all round and disc's to front. That said the clutch isnt broken as am still driving it, but who knows how long till it does.

Step dad recons just take it down WBAC and am inclined to agree but thought I should check here if anyone has any other ideas on getting at least a slightly better cash price for it. I thought once they see it I'll get £600 (tho I'll take it with my step dad so he can deal with the salesman)

Ta guys

Ebay, Autotrader, Local paper. Or just sell it to a dealer which although probably the lowest price, Less hassle.

Although WBAC know you want or need to sell so why haggle with you? You either accept their offer or you drive away.

Its not a car they will have a huge demand for so its auction fodder.

Sell it on ebay as a spares or repairs and be honest about the faults. It will fly away for the right price, assuming you dont want blood for it.

Once WBAC find out it needs all the work, either by you telling them via their quote or them seeing / driving your car, they will offer you buttons for it.

Either put it through your local car auction or as someone else has said list it on ebay listing the faults and put 'spares or repairs' in the heading.

I've an 03 Passat that i took as a trade in that needs a turbo and some bodywork done so i'm going down the ebay / spares or repairs auction route.

Autotrader. Or put an ad in the local paper, could be a bargain for someone willing to do a bit of work.

Cheers guys. Dont fancy ebay but certainly will try the local rag first or autotrader. Its typical really. Its got brand new mitchellin tyres on it too. But cant keep a car for tyres eh? :-)

I wouldn't discount ebay. Bang a £600 reserve on it and start at a quid.

If you are honest about the good points (new tyres) and the bad then someone should have it for that price espcially if it has tax and MOT on it.

The other option is gumtree as it is free but things move quickly on there and it can attract a certain type of buyer. That said, I bought my last car off gumtree and it has been brilliant.

I wouldn't bank on getting £600 from WBAC. Put the full details on their site and don't expect anything like the amount they say.

    Autotrader/local paper/ free-ads.

Oh, and ignore all the people offering you well over the odds for your car even though they haven't seen it:rotfl:

Reason I was discounting was I suspect ill need to sell it fast. Ill have 7 days from getting the new car to change the insurance. Ill look at it. That said once I know the date am getting the new car I can advertise can't I? Hummm, need a think. Cheers guys. Awesome as ever :-D

3 day listing, No reserve. Takes some guts but if you set it to end at a time when there might be plenty of people online, mid-evening for example, then you might just get lucky!

depending on the year of the car it might pay you to put the car through a car auction 120k on a diesel motor isn't a lot of mileage some auction places now offer smart repairs for scuffs and scratches might be worth enquiring.
