Flagging Driveway

Does anyone know of where to get cheap flags or something similar to flag a driveway, concreting isn't really an option as we sometimes flood and the waterboard need access to drains which run under our driveway  . Its to the rear of the property so doesn't have to be very fancy. At the moment its like a bog

Thanx

It it's a bog at the moment you will need some sort of hardcore or gravel foundation. Have you consider gravel on a hardcore base with some paving near the doorway(s)? It's a cheap solution and no problem if you need access.

Agree with economiser, forget paving of ANY kind.

You can use gravel - not pea shingle, as it's too small, it'll look better, be better for the ground, as it'll drain away naturally, rather than have to make up drainage of of a paved surface, look nicer 7 be easier to maintain - you'll just rake it now & again. It's also a security feature, as you'll hear anyone walking on it.

Don't buy in small bags, find a local builders merchant that delivers 1 metre dumpy bags, or better still loose & tipper lorry is cheapest!

Thanks for that - defo look into it, i thing flagging was going to be far too expensive anyway. The council give out ripped up tarmac (then broken down) for free so i'm just wondering if that will be an option now, save even more pennies!

The old tarmac would be a reasonable base, but you'd need to dig out at least 4-6'' assuming it's soil, currently.

Then cover the tarmac with gravel - not need so much, so save a few £$£

i bought some old slabs off ebay for about a quid each last year. (large ones). i just laid them on the dirt as there is only foot traffic on that part.
    cheap and simple.

had to collect, but i had access to a free transit van for that day.
    Get some gorm.
