Strange payment.

My husband gets £71 per week ESA, he has been getting it since nov when he was medicaly retired from work.

There have been no real problems with payments just a couple of hiccups. The last payment he received was 31st Dec as the payment was due on 1st Jan so it went in early.

The next payment should be 15th Jan but this morning one weeks payment went into the bank. It's a bit strange as he gets paid fortnightly. Does anyone have any idea why it would go in 5 days early and why it would be one weeks money, could it be a problem?

There seems to be a glitch at the DWP regards this. According to what I have read on similar threads on MSE you can expect another one week payment on your usual due date, then the fortnight payment run resumes as normal.
  • Thanks for the replies, he will phone them to find out, it will stay in the bank untill tues as hopefully another weeks payment will go in and normal service will be resumed.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    We had the same problem,

We got told due to tax reasons, it would be paid in 2 payments over 2 weeks instead of 1 payment for 2 weeks. Not sure why though
  • i didn't even get paid today which is my normal day, but it was authorised for a tomorrow payment, i dont know why but its normal fortnightly JSA payment.
