The arrears will be paid at £19.55 per week from 22/09/11 to 11/04/12 and from 12/04/12 to 22/09/12 at the now current rate of £20.55. I make that about £1,060 or so.

As for how long it will take to pay - it shouldn't take that long but for Government departments I would always advise 4 to 6 weeks to be on the safe side. If it is actioned straight away the payment could be in the bank within a week.
  • As Robbie64 states - you will get it back dated to start date of claim and at the 2 rates concerned. Hopefully it will be with you shortly, but it has been Christmas/New year so there will be a bit more than normal catching up to do I expect. Mine when I get it lands in my bank account on a Tuesday, not sure if others have another day or not. Have you not had any DLA at all to date? If not then it will not just be Sept 2011- 2012 it should be to now, so should be more than Robbie thought - my guestimate is in the region of 30 weeks @ £19.55 + 5 days £600.46? And to date 40 weeks at £20.55 = £822.00 so might be nearer to £1422 or so. However much it is, I am glad that you won the appeal and will be getting what you deserve to get.

You will as I understand it usually first get a form asking if you've been in hospital for any periods since the DLA claim began, as this may reduce your entitlement.
Only once this is returned and processed can you get any payment.

It shouldn't take all that long, it may be as short as a couple of weeks, as it has been agreed, and they just need to find out where to bank your money. The next thing you will get is a letter stating something like this:

    Dear Mr Pledgearama

We are pleased to inform you that we will be paying £abcx.yz into your bank account number 12 34 56 on the 28th January 2013. This is made up of DLA allowance as follows:

    £jks.xg 22/09/2011 to 10/04/2012

    £mvt.qr 11/04/2012 to 14/01/2013

You will receive £ftp.yz on 11th February to cover your DLA payment from 15/01/2013 to 12/02/2013 and every 4 weeks thereafter.

    ************************************

Hope this makes sense! Good to hear that your husband has been awarded this, and that it's to be correctly back dated to his initial application date. :)

    xx
