Hello, can anyone tell me if I have any redress against my Business bank account charging me £590.00 on 4 unpaid/paid referal fees. I find this extortionate but my manager stated this is the RBS rules. Thankyou in anticipation

Over how many days?
For 4 unpaid items in a single day, I'd expect £140.0 -
Unpaid Item FeeHello, can anyone tell me if I have any redress against my Business bank account charging me £590.00 on 4 unpaid/paid referal fees. I find this extortionate but my manager stated this is the RBS rules. Thankyou in anticipation
An Unpaid Item Fee of £35 (subject to a maximum of £140 per day) will be payable if:
you informally request an overdraft by issuing instructions for a withdrawal or other payment; and
the payment cannot be met from the funds in your account or any unused arranged overdraft; and
we decide in our discretion not to make the payment.
Paid Referral Fee
A Paid Referral Fee of £30 will be payable if:
you informally request an overdraft by issuing instructions for a withdrawal or other payment; and
the payment cannot be met from the funds in your account or any unused arranged overdraft; and
we decide in our discretion to make the payment so that an unarranged overdraft is created or increased.
The Paid Referral Fee is payable in addition to interest.
Just found this put in Google search for RBS BUISNESS BANK CHARGES.
Would seem there may be something else they have charged for. Me thinks you should look for another provider for your banking.0 -
before moving your account I'd ask RBS for a break-down of the charges so you can see if they are valid - query any that aren't,they might have just made a mistake. Then you can decide if any other banks would offer you better terms.0

Agree with Miss Havisham - - and also, as a matter of extreme urgency I would make sure they aren't adding any further charges now.0
