Vtech/ Leapfrog adaptors

Hi, just looking to get these to save on batteries all the time, and was wondering are the plugs specific or could you use any plug with the same end? The vtech one says its a 3.5mm male plug, 9v ac charger.
Could i possibly get one of these not specific to vtech does anyone know?

    So long as the polarity, voltage and amperage are the same, then any will do.
