Flights: Buenos Aires €499, Mumbai £333 and more

Options
Hey,

I've found this HolidayPirates.com website in a older thread and just wanted to tell you, there are really nice flight offers right now.

I just booked flights from Amsterdam to Buenos Aires for 499 Euro return with free stopovers in Atlanta and New York City. :T There is also a TGV offer right now. I think I'll take this to get to Amsterdam.

There are also cheap flights Manchester and London to Mumbai for £333 or Spain to Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico for only €352 return.

I make sure I check that site several times a day (these good deals often only last a few hours). Managed to get a return to Peru for £228 yesterday.
  • Where you are flying from, callum? Sounds great.

I'm flying from Madrid and back to London. Didn't manage to get quite as long as I wanted but I should be able to fit in the Nazca lines and Machu Picchu at a stretch so I couldn't say no at that price!
  • Callumm, were those the Lima flights that went via Sao Paulo? We got the ones posted just before Christmas, Barcelona to Madrid (1hr 30 in transit), Madrid to Lima, then returning to Madrid without going via Sao Paulo. We had the leg included Madrid back to LGW, but aren't using this, instead we are spending a couple of nights in Madrid then going straight back to Liverpool with Easyjet for £50 as London is a pain to get back from for us!

We are spending a couple of nights in Barcelona before we go. I think our flights were £252 each and we've got 18 nights. We're doing the Nazca lines too and Machu Picchu too (remember to book your permits, we have had ours confirmed for June and we booked before Christmas).

Don't forget Lake Titicaca a must, and Colca Canyon too!

Yeah - I just missed out on that one so when it popped up again a few days ago I bought it immediately! I go Madrid > Sao Paulo > Lima > Sao Paulo > Heathrow. I've already been to Madrid so don't have much interest in going back, but I'm going to fly out the day before (on BA with my Avios) just in case there is a delay - and Madrid is a perfectly pleasant city to stay in anyway. I've just checked my credit card statement and it seems it was only £218 - which with cash back from my credit card and TCB works out not much more than £200 - + £15 to get to Madrid. I think I'm going to add a flight from Cusco to Lima at the end to save the long bus trip back as well - but that can be bought with Avios as well, 4500 avios + £2ish as opposed to £180 odd in cash!

I've only got 11 days so I've only got time to do Machu Picchu and the Nazca Lines unfortunately. I'm not planning on doing the Inca trail because of the permit thing, I'm going to do the Salkantay Trek instead - which you can buy a day or so before. It's much cheaper and the scenery is meant to be a lot better (you just miss out on some of the ruins - but there are plenty to see around Cusco and in Machu Picchu anyway). In 4 years I'm doing a huge tour of the Americas though so maybe I could pop back across from Bolivia or something for the lake/canyon.

Yes, where Avios fall down for me generally, e.g. trying to get a flight to Barcelona from Manchester and they want me to go via London, they work VERY well for flights internally in South America. Booked Lima to Cusco with TAN via Avios for next to nothing. We are catching Eurostar to Paris, free with Tesco/Avios and doing the overnight train first class to Barcelona - it was cheaper than Easyjet wanted on a BH to fly to Barcelona! We have a couple of nights here before leaving to Madrid/Lima.

Yes a bargain deal, we got Topcashback too and Avios for using my credit card too for the two of us it came in just less than £495. I'm sure you will have a great time touring SE!

No plans to go to SA in the first half of this year, but I'll certainly keep an eye on the site... probably make another trip to Buenos Aires before too long as my fiancee is from there and it's over a year since the last trip. There's still so much of that continent I haven't seen yet... Machu Picchu is great though, especially if you're lucky enough to get there on a quiet day. When I went down to the so-called Temple of the Moon (a short trek from MP) there was nobody there but me.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning
  • So the offer came back again? How are the chances it will come back? Lucky you, its great! Hope I can find a flight a well..
