Spark Energy
I've just switched my Gas & Electric product and made a saving....which is great but they mentioned a cheaper supplier called Spark Energy. I've had a look on MSE website but can't seem to find out much about them....yet they seem to be considerably cheaper than all the other companies I have looked at?
Can anyone help, am I missing something here or is it a no brainer?

How did you decide to switch energy supplier?
Did you not follow the MSE advice?

If not, how can you be sure you got a good deal?
If you did, why didn't you see Spark energy in the comparison site?

I'm just wondering if this is someone who wants to create a bit of mischief by creating a new user ID and thread about Spark Energy in the hope it'll attract yet more slating comments?
There are a lot of undeclared sales people on here who don't like it when a competitor offers a lower price than they possibly can.
Any comparison site will show the best deal for you.0 -
Yes I did use the MSE advice but couldn't see anything in the advice about Spark Energy, would have thought it would get a mention considering it seems to be cheaper than the companies recommended?0

Just trying to find out some info....nothing more.0

Do a forum search. There are plenty of posts on here about Spark, 99% of them negative. They are not cheap, as the comp sites will show. And they are appallingly difficult to leave...the Hotel California of energy suppliers.
They also (alledgedly) pay bungs to agents and landlords to sign their tenants up.No free lunch, and no free laptop

iam with spark energy they say they are cheaper but i have just recieved a bill for £312 for four weeks so does that answer your question. When i moved in this property in july the old tennants had spark energy so we had to stay with them until we could swop over to british gas who we have been with for years we still havnt swopped over so that is nearly six months we have already payed a £431 bill and that was for four month i personaly think they are really expensive if thats any help .:mad:I've just switched my Gas & Electric product and made a saving....which is great but they mentioned a cheaper supplier called Spark Energy. Spark are something of an Enigma in the energy market
Their standard way of marketing their wares is to pay a 'bung' to Letting Agents & Landlords, to have a clause included in Lease Agreements that compels tenants to have Spark as their energy supplier.
Recently they have widened their marketing net by offering very competitive
tariffs to nearly all and sundry, the exception being those poor souls chained to Spark by lease agreements who's prices are higher -
On ECO7, 24% up on Day Rate & 41% up on Night Rate
The blog-trail on this site shows that Sparks marketing policies of 'Only do straight business if you can't screw the customer', also extend to their Customer Service, Billing and adhesion to licence rules, with complaints even from those who signed up as Free men for the competitive tariff0 -
hi,
i have run our g & e usage etc through three or four compare sites and they seem to be the cheapest by far.
we are a very very high usage household and they can say us approx. £420 per year compared to our current supplier (ovo energy).
i have never been one for swapping suppliers until a friend recommended we have a little look around.
i did so last year and saved by moving from e-on to ovo, i was a little worried as never moved before and had never heard of ovo.
i / we had no problems with ovo whatsoever..... the only thing we got was when discussing gas and elec with friends and the question was put to us... so who do you have for your gas and elec...... we replied ovo..... to which we always got.... who?
anyway i digress ......
we have now put in motion the moving proceed ..... if it goes as well as our move 12 months earlier from e-on to ovo we will be well chuffed...... watch this space as they say.....
thats my thoughts to date anyway
cheers
