Knocked over and car hit. 3rd party now denying liability.

            Sounds to me like the other party probably fell asleep. Having said that my husband was side swiped by an out of service bus which drove straight into him, late at night (dry and good visibility) - seemed like driver was in a hurry to end his shift and get back to depot. Claim turned out to be a nightmare, not because husband was at fault but because driver was Spanish national, and bus was on a lease to a company which in turn hired it out to the bus company......insurers wriggled every which way to duck out of liability, playing pass the parcel, and offering husband derisory amounts to settle. He refused, in the end it took 6 months but he got the claim in full.
 On a separate point, if OP was legally parked and stationary, and hit by moving car, she is bang to rights. As I understand it, insurers have to put her back in position she was in before the incident, which if if it a newish car, maybe why the other party's insurers are dragging their heels. Hang on in there.0

            It's standard practice to deny liability, don't worry about it.
 If you read your insurance policy it says in big letters "NEVER ADMIT LIABILITY", even if you're clearly in the wrong. Even if the other driver does think she was at fault, her insurance have most likely told her to deny it.0

            And it goes on... the third party's insurance have now paid my hire vehicle charges and are apparently going to pay up on the rest of my claim on a 'without prejudice' basis. Whatever that means. Still got to wait to get my excess returned and no claims discount reinstated though! I loathe insurance.
 It means they are not admitting liability YET!
 They are going to explore every avenue HOWEVER HOPELESS and it sounds like simply feet dragging... (or as a Mum they are doing that go limp thing... in other words acting like babies)
 If you haven't seen your CAB its worth a visit and see if you can charge them interest on the EXCESS. Even a latter stating that you will start charging from a date in the near future might hurry them along.
 Keep your head up..... remember you and the kiddy are both SAFE and UNINJURED!
 (As an aside last December I didn't do anything wrong and my kid was rushed into Ped ICU at St. Thomas's..... insurance were slow to pay out and dragged feet and I still had thousands I couldn't reclaim!!!! BUT as of today my son is in excellent health, we lost a few thousand that was meant to be the deposit for buying a house but so what - he went from being the most critically ill child in the UK's foremost PICU - and that is VERY ILL considering he was at higher risk than heart operation kids to a perfectly healthy 3 yr old today
 So we didn't get to buy a house - but what would be the good of that if he had died)0

            Wahey, I have my no claims back and am awaiting a cheque for my excess...
 However, renewal date was today, so I rang my insurers up to find out whether it was being automatically renewed and at what price, as I had received nothing on this subject in the post. Nearly fell over when the young lady on the other end of the phone informed me that my renewal would be £850 odd quids, FOUR TIMES what it had been. I told them I had had quotes around the £200 mark and got a big fat no to knocking their renewal price down.
 Promptly told them not to bother, got online and got new insurance for a few quid over £200 with the Co-op. Clearly Admiral don't like me now I've made a claim, despite the other party paying up!0

            I'm glad to see it's resolved, but if Admiral were still quoting a daft price I wouldn't be totally confident it's completely over until they produce the correct proof of no claims bonus for you to pass on to your new insurer0

 I should have added that bit - I rang Admiral to request the paperwork to do just that and they told me I had a 'dashboard' online that I could just download it from. Oh, how simple, methinks.
 Got on to this online dashboard and they had me down as only having one year NCD and having only had my licence for four years, both of which were incorrect. Rang Admiral back and got it changed with actually very little fuss whatsoever, downloaded the corrected paperwork and emailed it off to my new insurers.
 Hopefully that should be that!0
