I was having a spring clean and found a stash of pfennings/francs/lira coins and a few notes. Of course they have no use in today's credit crisis world and have no antique value.
Does anyone have any suggestions, charities I can direct them to, even if they are smelted for scrap.
Thanks in advance.

My local hospice shop takes any coins, so I think do Oxfam. I think that most of the large charities will be able to take it (and want it!)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

This was going back to about 2008, but I recall bunging a lot of old pre-2004 EU currency into HSBC, which was kindly accepted.
