Hi
It depends on her situation. If she is in full time (non advanced) education and will still be there when baby is born and after birth, you can claim ctc for her and the baby. However she can claim at that point. She can claim from as soon as the child is born. She would get the max CTC unless her income is above about 16k ish. Best to go to hmrc calculator and put in her details then yours and see what works out best. At the end of the day its up to her who claims as its her child.Saving money like a trouper...0 -
I would advise that she should claim for her own child otherwise I could get more complicated when she reaches 18 or you or her wages go over the tax credit fresh holds. Your daughter should be the one to take responsibility for her child. Visit http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/childbenefit/index.htm for official info0

She should claim herself - she needs to learn to be responsible if she's going to be a mum!
Is she in college or working? They may have some sort of HR or student support that could help her too.

Dont forget to ensure the father of the child pays toward its upkeep.0
