Think you have misunderstood some of the thread, as I understand it....
Original quote for old car = £x
Quote today for old car = £x+7
Quote today for new car = £x+8
So the difference between the two cars is £1 for 12 months rather than the £45 the OP has been quoted for the seven months remaining on his existing policy.
Something doesn't seem fair to me, no doubt all will be explained once the complaint lands on a desk
Yes, you explained that perfectly Vaio!I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

What is being asked here is whether you are getting the new quote from the same source as you did before?
An insurance company will price their product differently through different comparison sites and brokers. So, you will get a range of prices on the same product.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

            Good. Post #37 stands.
They may be able to justify the charge but no harm in sending an email/letter.0

            Esure and yes.
If it's Esure broker it will be Esure acting as a broker for another insurer. Who is the actual insurer (not broker) that Esure broker have played your current policy with? Who is the the insurer that Esure broker presented a price for on each of the two quotes you got?
As an example, a few years back I had my insurance with Swinton, but Swinton were the broker not the insurer. The insurer was Fortis whose name was on the policy details.0

            This is what it says.
"Your insurance is provided by Sheilas' Wheels, underwritten by esure Insurance Limited."
Edit: I just found out mu original Sheila's Wheels policy for the old car was underwritten by KGM'.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0
