Wednesday 9th January - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Thanks for starting the thread today lpp and hello to everyone who follows too.
I'm looking forward to a Stitching Witch day today. Apart from cleaning the chickens out I don't intend on doing any housework. Sometimes I get too bogged down with cleaning etc that I run out of sewing time, and that's not what my Wednesdays are all about.
My list so far today:- Warm filling porridge for breakfast
- Made DH a packed lunch
- Fed and watered the chickens
- Checked banking
- Sent DS3's birthday cake into work with DH (DS3 doesn't live at home but DH works in the same place so he doubles up as a messenger for me!)
- Printed some instructions off using the 'double-sided' feature on the printer - half as much paper used

- Spend the day in the sewing room earning money
- Lunch from stores
- Spend an hour or so resurrecting my household organiser
- Left over HM Turkey and ham pie for dinner
- Have an NSD

Morning all. Well yesterday wasn't a great day on the weight loss front (or the MSE front really). Went to a geocaching event in Branston, where the pickle originally comes from. It was about a 50 minute walk from the station to the station to the venue, so I reckoned I'd earned myself a beer when I got there. That led to three over the course of the evening, plus a bar meal too, then a taxi back to the station. Spent just under £20 in all, but I enjoyed myself which is the main thing. I reckon we're all allowed the occasional treat.
The damage to the house doesn't look too bad. Although the front room and hall will need repapering, I reckon I can put up with it for a while. The floors don't seem to have started coming up which is a bonus. The worst bit is the horrible damp smell which will presumably disappear in time.
Today I have/will- Shower using free toiletries
- Make sure DS gets up in time for his first job interview.
- Pray for success in the above. If he's working, then he's got less time to be at home destroying my house!
- Make sandwiches for work
- Walk to station then train pass to work
- Free newspapers on the train
- Free coffee/water at work
- Charge phones at work
- Do an Aldi shop on the way home (will take own carrier bags)
- Check online banking
- Dinner from stores
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
Morning all!
Walk to work
Lunch leftovers from yesterday
Walk home
No spending at vending machines!0 -

Morning All,
Thanks for starting today's thread LPP.
Well, after y'days wee disaster of leaving freezer door open, I have late last night organised what to cook, what I needed to give away to a good friend, and cooked a little last night. So this morning is COOK, COOK, COOK!!!
I would also like to:
Check online banking
check cashback sites
!Ring OU and register on decided course - A MUST!
Sort washing/airer
Knit for 2 x 15 mins
Have to do online shop for tomorrow
Have a relaxing bath
Update spreadsheet as forgot about DS2 keyboard payments
think that's more than enough.
Have a great day everyone. Hope it goes smoothly for you all.

Hi everyone
Hope we are all well and keeping up with life’s tempo.
Zepsgal – don’t go feeling guilty about not doing housework – the mess will still be there at the weekend when you’re a bit more rested and willing/able to tackle it head on!
Perni – check out edigitalresearch – some surveys are a complete slog but works out about £7.50/hour and a little bit of a monthly boost.
Here’s me:
J Checked for surveys
J Bought travel card
J Darned a pair of tights
J More crochet – tea cosy is coming along nicely but slowly…
J Respond to friend – decide whether I can cover her yoga class
J Checked banking
J Marking work - £5 per paper but not really sure when the money comes through…
J Email friend about meeting up/staying at hers while in London for a training course
Have fun whatever you’re up to
