Did anyone else sign up for the Mother & Baby mag trial for £3?

I think I was meant to get a Tomy musical light thing as a free gift. I guess they were oversubscribed as the following arrived today.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-First-Years-Silence-Machine/dp/B003WKZ4Y2

Anyone got any experience of them? Any good?

I did but got a sleeping bag like this:

Is the sound machine thing similar to Ewan the dream sheep?

It does a similar thing to Ewan (got one!) It gives out 'white noise' which is meant to settle the baby. Would have preferred a sleeping bag!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I signed up for the baby magazine and I got the advertised night light, it arrived about 2 days after I placed the order!

Still waiting for the baby... (2 weeks left :j)!

I have this in blue - bought it from the grabbit thread when it was £17/£19 last year??? I wouldn't pay £37 for it - the hood is a !!!!!! to get to stay up (we wedge it against something!) - it looks nowhere near as perfect as in the picture!

I was speaking to a childcare bod today and she said never get a baby to sleep to white noise (settle is probably fine though!) - it doesn't let their brain switch off - so I guess use the music aspect of it instead if using to get to sleep. We get baby to sleep with this (is that what you were supposed to get???) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tomy-40962-Starlight-Dreamshow-Yellow/dp/B00020IPDW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378396415&sr=8-1&keywords=light+show - it is absolutely fab and she is usually asleep by the end of it!

i subscribed but am yet to get the gift. i emailed on monday and they said they are out of stock......
  • I too signed up for the Mother & Baby magazine, be wary with the 'free gift'. If you don't want to subscribe to a total of 12 months after the 3 month trial they ask for the gift to be sent back to them. This has happened to me.

And did you send it back? Had you used/ opened it? What was it? Not sure what they will do with the secondhand goods!

It is a sleeping bag and has been through the wash and they expect it back in the packaging and as new...?! They also tried to fob me off with saying that I was supposed to let it run for 12 months but if you look on the website it says you can end your direct debit at anytime and that you're not committed to the 12 months unless the 2nd payment has already been taken from your account, which it hadn't. Not sure what to do actually...

Can you post a link to the trial offer? If that's what the terms say then there's not a lot they can do. Have you asked them to send you a pre paid envelope so you can return?

A trial is that. If you don't want to take it up you have that option.
