Rude service but no refund

On the 7th December I went to the Grimsby store and bought a Zepad for £60 it didn't have any accessories just a 2 pin plug and an adapter, after charging it overnight the plug was warm to the touch the next morning and let off a burning smell, so I decided to take it to the store for a refund, after being told by Martin Sz after 3 hours of testing (do they really test it or just leave it laying around?) that they couldn't find anything wrong with the plug and that they cannot refund me when I spoke to Gordon the other manager of the shop he said he will see about getting my refund until he decided to change his mind after finding the results. Martin was rude to me telling me to describe the manager I spoke to that morning as he claimed himself he's also the manager, and said to me 'What kind of person leaves it charging overnight?' So I refused to back down and waited for Gordon and he said 'All plugs overheat' well if that was the case my TV and VirginBox would have not been working by now, rather than giving me a refund they told me to pick something else from the store, they didn't have any other tablets so I left with the only thing I could afford for that price was a mobile phone that I did not need.

Some adapters do get quite warm when in use, the more the item gets used, the warmer the adapter may become. A relatively warm power adapter is normal, especially when the item is being used and the battery is being charged, however, if the adapter is quite hot, enough that it could hurt your hand after touching it for just a few seconds, this is a potential problem. An adapter that hot is a warning sign that something could be wrong with the adapter or the item.
So it could be that you adaptor was warm to the touch and has been tested and is okay.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Not much you can do now you've exchanged it to a different product0

You are wrong.Items fitted with non-UK plug, e.g. a 2 pin Europlug may be supplied but only if they
have been fitted with an approved 3 pin conversion plug. The conversion plug must
enclose the fitted plug and must only be removable with the use of a tool.

Funnily enough my new Satellite box arrived yesterday with a 2 pin plug, and an adaptor.0 -

OP appears to indicate a seperate 2 pin adapter was supplied? If it had been supplied with an 'enclosed' converter, I would have expected it to have been described differently by the OP?0
