Back payment of Child Care Grant

Hi there,
I am in my third and final year of uni and always apply for the Child Care Grant. The problem is I find the forms vary confusing to fill out as the hours my daughter is in nursery is often very flexible. Does any one know if I can sort these forms out that I can get the payment sorted retrospectively? This would apply to the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years.
I'm aware that the fault is my own but I am trying to address the problem, I am having to use money from my OH earning to pay for childcare which has the knock on effect of not letting him clear off his own debts.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance

Do you mean that you think you have claimed too much childcare grant in those years, and you want to arrange repayment of the overpayment?
Or do you mean you have claimed too little, and you want to know if you can now claim the extra for each of those years so that you can pay your OH back?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hi whitewing,
I meant that I had applied for the childcare grant but not completed the forms outlining how much I expected to pay for childcare, meaning I have effectively received £0 with respect to childcare.0 -
You can apply, but the general guidance is within 9 months of the academic year. SFE have discretion to backdate though, but it will be case by case.0

Thanks Taiko,
Do you know if I should complete the 3 forms for each term in every year? Also do you have any advice for when I ring them?
Thanks in advance, Nicole0 -
I think it's best to just call them, explain the situation, and see what they can suggest. They do have a childcare specialist team, so try and contact them.0
