Treasure Hunt for a partner

Hello ladies and gents, :j

I am organising a treasure hunt for my boyfriends birthday and need some help!

I need some rhyming clues for typical places around the house (eg bathroom cabinet, under the bed, computer, dining table, mailbox etc). Any clues that I find on the internet are for little kids and would be way too easy for him.

His present will be waiting at the last place, but I want to make it more interesting and make him work for it :)

If you could think of some rhyming clues it would be a great help as I am completely useless!

Does it have to be rhyming clues? Can't you try cryptic (non rhyming) clues instead?

I did a similar thing with a friend once where we did a cross word based on things in her life as she was in to crosswords, and it worked quite well.

Its hard to suggest clues for your partner and your home if we don't know them!
  • is your partner 8 years old? coz i can't imagine a grown up wanting to do this. There's a reason that the only clues you can find are for kids.

Here's one grown up that'd love to do this...

Aww I think this is fun. I do an egg hunt every Easter for dh and kids, but rather than rhymes I leave clues like "I hope there isn't a monster under here!" Which means under the bed.
  • Thanks for your replies.

For the person who asked if my partner is 8 - you'll be surprised to know he's not. And if you want my full explanation of why I'm doing it, I can explain... My partner hasn't had a good childhood at all, before I came into his life he didn't even celebrate his birthdays or Christmases. Every year I try to involve some sort of my own childhood tradition to his birthday to make it more interesting and show him how what it's like to be cared for. You'd be surprised how much he appreciates that every year I think of something different, rather than just simply give him the gift and say: 'Here you go, happy birthday'. So don't say no adult would enjoy it, as everyone is totally different.
