Citroen picasso - want to scrap

I habe a 2001 citroen picasso which is a non runner and is going to cost more than its worth to put back on the road.

I was wondering would I get more if I sold it for scrap or parts?

I rang one company today and said it's only a small car so would give me £80 and another said he would collect it but not pay as its not worth anything.

I'm not sure if they both tried to con me as I'm a woman or does this sound about right?

I'm in the same boat with current old car which I don't know what to do with.

Last time I put one on Ebay as a non runner i got £100 and they towed it away.

I did ask for a quote from - WeBuyanycar.com and they offered £105 for current car but have heard stories that they knock the price down, Could be an easy way of getting rid.

Old cars are worth more running - not much though - than when they pack up so I think you just have to bite the bullet and get shot of it.

    Good Luck

    PS - I'm a woman too lol

Yikes, you're really screwed then as they only give them away to special people who click the register link ;)

Again, whats actually wrong with the car?

If you type scrap car prices into google you can get online quotes for your car.

Put your details into https://www.cartakeback.com for a *minimum* value.

    Don't accept anything less.

But if you want to make the most, as a previous poster said, create an eBay account and sell it on there

It needs new clutch and gears, internal fan doesn't work, the central locking does not work, it won't start which I presume is from a dead battery as it was starting last time I used it. Its got a dent and crack on the front bumper and something has scrapped all down the back passenger side.

This. I've found them very good on prices and they come and take it away. You don't have to worry about getting it to the scrappers. I'd have thought £150 minimum. Don't forget to claim back any tax it might have on it.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
  • A knackered Picasso. Typical mum truck or br#t carrier. :D:p

I've put loads of different cars into cartakeback.com over time and they always come back with £75 collected.

I found a list of registered companies and have been quoted £155 collected, almost double the £80 I was quoted yesterday.
