Like many people, I am pretty bad when it comes to keeping a good record of various household related things (insurance renewals, warranties, gas appliance servicing dates etc), and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for any organisational software programs (windows based) that I could use to help me keep track of these things.
Being a money saving site, I would prefer a free program, but if there is something good available, I wouldn't mind paying for it.

Hi,
I have used the calendar in MS Outlook for years and find it indispensable now.
If you have Windows 7 you may have Windows Live Mail which looks similar to Outlook. If not, you can download it for nothing here

Live Mail is an email client as well so you can use it to consolodate your email addresses.
I have not tried it but I reckon it may be worth a try."It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

Google Calender is good for this sort of stuff.
Use on-line (Chrome) or via smartphone.0 -
The hardest part with any such utility is entering the data in the first place.0

Another vote for Google Calendar.
The benefit is that it is available to you on any device with an internet connection. On some devices it will also sync it's data with the devices own calendar program.
You can also set it up so it sends you reminder emails in advance.0 -
I have used excel for years to keep track of my current account and other accounts.
If you are good with spreadsheets, this makes it so easy to budget for weekly/monthly/annual payments.
