Would you tell someone they have bad breath?

I am often amazed that people with bad breath don't realise themselves. I can tell if I have it (not by the people falling down around me) by a slightly unsavoury taste in the mouth and hence do something about it. Or do other really not know they have minging breath?0

Depends, I guess. I used to get a bad taste of post-nasal drip with sinus infections but if I didn't have that symptom, I might still have the iffy breath, but no bad taste.0 -
I really feel for you, I am very sensitive to bad breath and it's a curse. As she is an acquaintance then there is no point in saying anything, she probably has gum disease and as another person pointed out, take out a handkerchief upon which you have sprayed your fave perfume. Breath it in as she talks and say you often feel a little nauseous while travelling and the perfume helps. If a member of the family has bad breath then it's solved pretty quickly in our house a subtle "Your breath stinks, sort it" usually does the trick.0
