broken charger stuck in tablet - any hope?

Options
Versus 9" tablet, brought from Pc world, DD left it balanced on back of sofa to charge (YES I KNOW ) it got knocked off and the charger broke off, so the little end bit is now stuck in the socket and we cannot get it out.

Is there anything we can do? If we can get the little piece out, then we could get another charger, otherwise I think we are stuck..... :(

Something small and superglue, depending on the size of the hole either a skewer or a pen, put some superglue on the end and wait till tacky, and stick it in the hole and leave until it's set and put and hope.

A picture paints a thousand words!

I would be very careful using superglue!

I would try and tease it out with a scalpel - first choice

if it is plastic, you need steady hands, fine nose pliers, candle and a paperclip/pin. heating the paperclip up so its end is red hot, quickly push it into the plastic of the plug and hold it there so it melts it way inside. Once the clip has cooled down pull it out and hopefully the plastic thing comes out too. If it does not come out a a good few tries

It may be possible to remove the broken end of the barrel of the plug using an appropriately sized self tapping screw, if the thread of the screw can get enough purchase on the barrel to allow it to be pulled out.

I've managed to get bits out with a very thin jewellers screwdriver working one side and then the other gently

Whatever you do, switch it off and take the battery out first! You don't want to short something or do electrical damage.

If, in the future, you want to take it away and are unsure how to charge it (away from a computer) just buy an USB socket/plug adaptor and it should charge it from the plug that way.

Its a tablet, battery doesn't come out. (most of them at least)

Is the bit a small round piece. One of the easiest ways is to use a pin, use pair of fine pliers to bend the very end of the tip to create a very tiny hook, then slowly ease the tip out.
