Makes mincemeat of youtube/bbc Iplayer. Can play basic games as well and will run MS word easily.

With purchasing laptops on a budget I usually use a local computer fair (if you live in London, theres one in Tottenham court road or in Stratford). They usually run on the weekends and generally have very helpful market stall members.
Otherwise ebuyer has very good laptops. For what you require from the laptop, you don't need a laptop with more than 4gb of ram.
With regards to Word if you have the CD, carry on. Otherwise, Openoffice is useful and free.0 -
