A Few weeks ago I and others told this company they had a malicious mailware from avast when visiting the site. They were really rude and said basically what do you expect from free security ,told us to hop along and then blocked us. Yesterday they self posted their latest comp and some said they were getting warnings and I said what had happened and that obviously they havent sorted it out although they knew about it weeks ago . Now he has decided to post about it saying I am slating his site etc etc ,all I was doing was warning people that it is has a problem according to avast ,ive not slated the site just said how rude they were about being told about the problem , so if anyone sees this ,then yes it was me and I dont care what they say ,they are flagged as having a problem with avast and dont want to sort it ,they are not as innocent as they are trying to make out and are rude to anyone who dares tell them as well!

I'm sure someone told him that self promoting was against forum rules. I don't understand why he's puzzled that he's blocked ??0

I saw the attempts to post their own comp on here and your (and other peoples) warnings about a security problem.
They'd have done better using their energy to sort the problem out rather than slating people for telling the truth.
Sounds like a silly and amateurish site that really doesn't care about its customers.:mad:The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
He is trying to make out im bringing his company down ,not true,i couldnt care less about his company ,but if his site is giving out security warnings then I am going to tell people to be wary ,they don't care because they have known for weeks they have a problem and still people are getting warnings!0

He must think his company is in a precarious condition if one lone person on a comping forum has the power to destroy it.
Perhaps we should start calling you "Mighty Chelsea" !0 -

Just read their comments, I wouldn't worry about it, Russ has explained it to them but they are just not getting it, it's not very professional of them to name you like that, They should be checking their security settings rather than whining.

If anyone is that worried about security then maybe comping is not for them.
I've seen posts on here warning about for example Avast flagging up, and then others saying it's fine with Norton or NOD32 or whatever. Point is, pretty much every AV has it's own take on what is or isn't a virus/malware through it's definitions. Mine flags up occasionally, usually with generic Trojan things which upon investiagtion turns out to be an advert or something. Either way, your AV will shut down or prevent that particular part of the website, as it's supposed to do.
I'm sure some technological person will come on after me and completely disprove my thoughts on it but hey them's my thoughts and I figure I've been online for too many years for it not to be considered 'lucky' some hacker hasn't killed my computer.
Chill out and just enter the comps.Golly, I've got the newt pregnant...

I think it's a good thing to be made aware of security issues and then it becomes your choice to enter after that knowing you are taking a risk. If I entered a competition and killed my PC I would be a bit miffed if I knew it could have been avoided, IMO no competition that I have a fairly low chance of winning anyway is worth it.StayHome * StaySafe * BeKind0

every antivirus ,adware malware etc etc flag different things but they are not 100 % if you run mam or spybot on your own pc you will be amazed what has sneaked by (theres a fab thread in the techie forum and im no techie) .. so warnings are most appreciated chelsea... thank youThank you to all the posters and the forum guides for all your hard work it is appreciated ...
