DWP Home Visit?

My sister suffers a condition where she gets panic attacks if she is around strangers. I attend all her hospital & doctors appointments which keeps her calm.
Tonight she called me to say she received a letter from the DWP which says they want to visit her home to make sure she is receiving the correct amount of benefit.Surely they would know on their system if she was receiving the correct amount.Has anyone else had an home visit?

It is a standard visit, nothing to worry about. It would be helpful if she had her bank statements and proof of identity to hand before they arrive.

If she doesn't want them visiting she does not have to allow them entry.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

True - it could be done on the doorstep if she prefers. But if everything is as it should be, why would it be a major problem?

It sounds as if this might be a review under the 'Right Payment Scheme' under which people are randomly selected to have their benefits checked to ensure that they are getting the correct amount.
