Hi
Would appreciate any ideas for cheapish and nice breakfast near Blackfriars tube station. Staying at the Crowne Plaza The City, room only. Would like a few options other than just McD's.
Thanks in Advance

Very nice places to eat in Borough Market which is next to London Bridge on the South Bank.0

Are you after a greasy spoon, if so walk North along (Away from the river), about 400m away you will find Smithfields meat market which provides meat for most of Southern England. Very good greasy spoon cafes serving incredibly fresh high quality meat.
To the eastern side of the market there are nice deli and coffee shops which sell non greasy spoon breakfasts0 -
Thanks for your suggestions very helpful.0

I like a nice greasy spoon so would go to Smithfields and ask one of the meat porters (Loads around), will be the best greasy spoons in London. If you like the nicer end then go to Borough Market.0

There are a few Weatherspoons and other pubs that do breakfast in the morning around that area.0

I stayed at that hotel last year - really lovely. We walked towards St Pauls (about a 15 minute walk). First morning we had breakfast in "Eat" which is a chain of coffee/sandwich shops. We had porridge with bananas, and bacon rolls - they were lovely. 2nd morning we walked in Covent Garden direction (again a 15 minute walk) and had english breakfasts at a Pret A Manger. More choice here, but the Eat was nicer & cheaper. Both loads cheaper than the hotel though. Have a great time! :j0

Thanks for all the suggestions might try a greasy spoon one day and something a bit more up market the next. Quite like the idea of Weatherspoons as they are really cheap.0

There are plenty of nice chain and independent places if you walk toward St Paul's / The City as there's a huge market for them from the City workers who have the money to pay for decent food.
Don't forget to walk across Blackfriars bridge and have a stroll along the Southbank where there are lots of things to see. I drive across the river everyday at different times of the day and I never get bored of the amazing view.0
