Hi Everyone! This is my first post on the forum.I was trying to find the answer to my questions on the forum and read great amount of posts, but i didn't manage to get anywhere.l am trying to complete bank charges claim letter and my questions are: 1 When gaving examples about hardship should i include specific amounts of my debts, other arreas and the companies i owe or just mention the fact that l have plenty debts? 2: ln the letter should l include list of all the charges with dates together with explanation how each charge affect me or just the list of charges? 3: should i attach bank statments and is it good to attach things like debt collectors letters and arreas demands or is it gaving too much private details to bank? Thank you very much for help and your understanding for newby on the forum.l just want to make shure that l write my letter correctly and there is no one else i know who l can ask. P.S : l will be claiming my charges from halifax bank under the hardship rule i think, bank many times put me over my overdraft limit by taking fees out when i didn't had any money in account and then charge fees for going over my overdraft, when in fact it was bank who make me over overdrawn.they are charging me £5 a day but after a month its coming to great amounts. Thanks once again for your help.

Specify them.ln the letter should l include list of all the charges with dates together with explanation how each charge affect me or just the list of charges?
Explain how charges are having an impact but dont do it on a charge by charge basis.3: should i attach bank statments and is it good to attach things like debt collectors letters and arreas demands or is it gaving too much private details to bank?
They dont need their own bank statements. However, give them copies of demands.

I would suggest you follow the guidence on how to write such a letter as given in this article

What came first? The chicken or the egg?
One thing though is for sure. You don't get overdraft charges without you first borrowing money in the first place

Hi I am going throught the exact thing right now.I followed all Martins tips and sent them the template letter all copys of the charges in bank statements I even delivered the letter and evidence to my local branch who said it will go with secure internal mail to head office. I sent all this in September and with still no reply by 1st of jan I emailed my complaint and with in 15 mins they were on the phone, they have denied EVER recieving my original complaint I spoke to a manager who said I will have a look at the email complaint and will phone back ,it took all of 6 mins and straight away said I have no case for hardship as there was spending on the account and will only refund £50 of charges for december. I told here No thanks as I am now going to the F/Ombudsman with the complaint. We had Halifax total mortgege protection at the time I was made redundant and were unable to make a claim on the policy (refunded already) so I am now waiting on the reply from the F/O to see if I have a case.
If writing a letter send it recorded and create a paper trail0
