I purchased a car privately that was still finance. I agreed with the seller an amount and we both made payments over the phone to the finance company at the same time to clear the balance via debit card.

We were both faxed copies of the closure of the account and confirmation the finance company no longer had an interest in the car.

Hope this helps. 32mpg isn't really that bad TBH

Its a 1.2 Corsa Limited Edition, would never recommend one. the car is too heavy for the size of the engine. I can push 36 on the motorway, 32 on the A / B roads.

    OMG - 32mpg from a Corsa!

I get combined about 35mpg from my Q5 and can get 40mpg sitting at 60 on the motorway.

Although it's still new, it should be fairly well run-in by now.

How does the fuel consumption compare with the manufacturer's figures? Perhaps there is something wrong with it, in which case you might be able to put pressure on the retailer to sort it out.

I get a long-term average 51mpg in my 1.5D Megane Convertible, and that is a heavy car. I wouldn't go back to petrol if they are still getting those kinds of figures.

Yeah, well it was advertised as 51.4mpg combined, which is why i lent towards buying it. 32 is a lot less then this apparent 51.4.
I had to take it back to garage two weeks ago because the bearing had gone on the front left wheel, and when it was in I asked them if it would be possible to have a look and make sure their wasn't any holes in the fuel tank because the mpg is s**t but they weren't impressed one bit.

Are you driving at the speed limits? That's very low for a brand new 1.2 engine! My 14 year old 8v 1.2 Clio gets higher MPG with mainly town driving!!!

Official consumption figures mean diddly squat these days because of EU rules insisting on unrealistic laboratory readings. The honest john website has a section for real life consumption as experienced by owners.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

No wonder you are in negative equity paying that. You can pick a new one up for £11k before even haggling.

you can pick them up for £8k now on sxi as new model is out this year, also op have you had vauxhall link it up to make sure the engine management is setup correct
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
