Payslips from ex-employer

Few weeks ago, I requested my ex-employer via email to provide me duplicate payslips on company headed paper.

After not receiving any reply for sometime I tried to call the HR and I was told that they picked up my email and they'll contact me when they'll have more details. They didn't mention any time frame about how long they may take.

Now it seems to me that, they are not interested about me to provide the payslips. But I need them badly and urgently and can't do without them.

My question is where do I stand if they refuse to give me the payslips?

You have no legal right for a duplicate payslip and so you are at their mercy assuming you had the originals but lost them/ threw them away.

A SARs request under the DPA would most likely provide the info you require but it wont be on headed paper and would contain a whole host of other info that may share the paper and you may not want to give to whoever it is your wanting the payslips for. SARs can cost up to £10 and they have 40 days to respond

They could actually charge you anyway for providing duplicates.

Someone has to do the work to enable them to find them, print them off and post them.

All you can do is keep ringing them.

Wouldnt bank statements do, assuming your wage was paid into your bank.

I don't mind to pay them a reasonable amount of service charge for giving me duplicate payslips. They never used to give me payslips in paper format, I only used to receive them in company's email account. As I left the job I don't have access to them anymore.

For visa home office requires 2 form of evidence, one is the amount I receive in my bank account and another has to be original payslips or a letter from employer stating gross and net amount I earned.

    Are you sure?

Other normally accepted versions are P45s and P60s.

I know when we last dealt with the UKBA for UK Visas we didnt provide payslips at all.

Tax documents can be used in circumstances where I'll be claiming visa points for exact period stated in tax documents. But I'm not claiming points for earnings from April to March, I need to do it for January to December.

Ref: Tier 1 General guidance in UKBA site (couldn't post a link here).

An alternative of payslips is to get a letter in headed paper from employer stating the payment date, gross and net amount paid.
