Well my week couldnt get any worse could it, Friday had to pts my second cat, and yesterday the third one goes missing, I know its only 24hrs but when you have a child asking if the cat didnt want to stay any more its hard to give an answer. You see the cat we pts was the mother of the one thats missing and my daughter thinks he didnt want to stay with us any more because she isnt here and he was the only cat left in the home with the dog for company.
As i type this the tears are streaming down my face because I know may never find him, I said I would go look for him today thats if I can stop crying long enough to go look that is.

Well, i,m sorry for your news, so i do think haveing a good cry and let your emotions leave you is quite a good move. Once you've recovered a bit , then you can make quite a few helpful steps. For example. 24 hours is still a very short time and there is no need to panic. Ask neighbours as it may be locked in a garage or shed. You could empty some of the contents of your hoover in your garden as this will have your individual comforting smell in it. Local flyers with pictures of your furball could be circulated. Finally there are facebook pages on the internet etc where information could be dissemenated.
All the Best in your efforts

I'm so sorry, what an awful time it is for you

Some ideas on this thread for when cats have gone missing may help in finding your lad https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4221475
I do hope you find him soon xx0 -
Day 2, I got up this morning expecting my boy to be running up the path to get in but there was nothing, going to continue today going round doors, checking sheds and the worst part checking the main road. I will also phone the vets round about, local cats protection and sspca letting them know he is missing so they can at least keep an eye out for him.
I am trying to be positive that he will come back.Became Debt Free 2009

Not quite the same but we have a stray who has been coming round begging for food morning and night since we moved in at the end of november. She never came from the 23rd Dec and after a couple of days I started worrying so asked the neighbours and they hadn't seen/heard her. I was worried sick that something had happened to her. She turned up at the back door at 1am on new years day for food like she'd never been away, I've never been so relieved to see her. I have no idea where she's been but she looked well fed and had no injuries so there is hope.
I have my fingers crossed and hope he comes back soon, keep us updated x0 -

call your local council too - not sure if it's the same in scotland, but ours will pick up the bodies of cats and dogs which have been reported. i think they keep them for a week before they go to a pet crematorium.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

cats grieve in some unusual ways, make sure he didnt follow the scent of the PTS cat and have tried to go looking, so retrace some steps and see if you can spot him.
hang a favourate blanket outside or the contens of the hoover in the garden in the home the smell wil travel and he picks it up and follows it home.
contact local shelters to see if he has been brought in.
if he is a outdoor cat he maywell have a second home you dont know about and is taking time out there.0 -
Don't lose faith OP.
Just tonight I was talking to a friend and he told me that a mutual friend's cat that had gone missing over a week ago had come back this morning.
