hi, congratulations! my wife always rattles on about netmums, appraently they have a for sale board which can have some bargains on. i think it's split into areas too so the stuff for sale will be local to you. https://www.netmums.com i think it is.

For cheap but new stuff Matalan / Primark / Ethel Austin are pretty good for blankets / clothing etc
dont forget the summer sales
BUT remember you dont need to buy loads and loads of stuff in the early days anyway
People will probably buy clothing as gifts etc and so long as you have the main / big things that you will definitely need and use
anything else can wait
PS also try car boot sales and NCT nearly new sales

Don't buy too much, you'll be amazed at how much people buy for the first baby..we even had enighbours dropping in with vests packs and teddies...we were stunned by how much our dd was given!
Keep your eye on the local papers for second hand prams...the ones that were bought for 600 and now being sold for 100 as they won't fit into the boot of any small car AND have room for a baby in the back seat.:rolleyes:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

charity shops can be amazing, especially for clothes. I've had designer kids clothes with the tags still on for ridiculous small amounts of money. My advice would be:
1. to stock up on bargains like this - maybe you see something that's a real bargain and brand new but it wouldn't fit your LO for another year... buy it, it's amazing how quick the time goes!
2. Anything clothes people give you that's too small (or just not to your taste!) take back to the shop - without a reciept, you usually get to exchange for the same value and you can get something more appropriate / that you really need (New items I mean, I haven;t tried to return charity shop items!!!!!)
3. ALWAYS ALWAYS work out the seasons if you're buying ahead.... the cute fluffy winter coat may be a bargain, but if it's size 6-9 months and your baby will be that age over the summer months, it simply won't get used! (I learned this the hard way!)
4. Don't buy lots at first, c'os everyone else will do that for you! Also, don;t bother buying your own baby any Xmas presents - again, everyone else will probably go overboard!Homer: I want to share something with you, Bart: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: Cover for me. Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss! Number 3: It was like that when I got here.

your local NCT will have nearly new sales which have great bargains but are a real scrum because of it - get there early and queue or make friends with a member (or volunteer). Freecycle is excellent. https://www.kiddicare.com always has good discounts. Babies don't need lots of stuff so try to avoid buying all those cute things that you just won't use - you'll be amazed what people will lend and give you as well.0

buy 7 vests and 7 babygrows and wait to see what gifts you get given. You will end up with loads honest. I found drawing up a list of what i needed handy and i checked it off throughout my pregnancy and thus didnt spend too much. Why not try reuseable nappies and wipes too? They save me a fortune!0

Baby bath,
Baby towels,

Hiya
Congratulations :T :T
Try wilkinsons!! honestly! I brought my son a moses basket for about £7/8.
and they are great for sheets 2 moses for about £2.99.
They do loads bottles/buggys/clothes.
They also do a pink range/blue range and a nuteral range (for stuff like cot bumper/cot bedding/changing mat/towels/ etc).
Really hope this helps:D
Ohh also dont know if its been mentioned but bootfairs are great! Went on sunday and saw cot bed for £10! (bargin they are £100+ usually in shops)
Good luck
