DAmage to interior from roof leakage

We have had some repairs done to oiur roof. The leakage has caused watermarks on the walls of our bedroom, damaging the lining paper. Will i be able to claim for this? What type of cover would i be required to have to claim? We have not claimed for the roof which we assume is wear and tear, but wondered if we can claim for the interior damage.

How much in cash terms is involved........It doesn't sound much and will proberbly fall within the excess.

generally you can claim for the damage caused though not for the roof repair or anything damaged in tracking and tracing the leak.

A can of stainstop may be less than your excess!

We had a leak on our utility room flat roof. The roof repair we paid for; the interior damage (replastering ceiling, painting ceiling, replacing damaged wall units) was paid for on the buildings insurance as they were all caused by an insured peril.

I don't believe it's AD, but we do have AD cover so I can't tell you from the fact that the claim got paid!

Can you just clarify - was it water leakage because the roof was faulty, or was it water leakage caused during the repair? Because if it's the latter, it's the repairer's fault and not something the insurer should have to pay for.

I think it was because the roof was faulty-but i will have to check with my Oh who dealt with the repairers.
