You must be a troll, surely to goodness. In all the years I've been posting on MSE I've never come across such illiteracy - it MUST be put on. Oh and I have to say, those unemployed on here don't appear to be too happy.
MissPiggy50 openly admitted in another thread that they milk the system for benefits. They also read and believe conspiracy websites, pretty much calling me stupid for not believing in that rubbish.
They are most probably a troll; but i could be wrong.Professional Data Monkey

Problem is that they are not just sanctioning people for 'not wanting to work'. I got sanctioned because I didn't apply for a job they sent me in a letter because I never got the letter. So I was penalised for the failings of the post office. A friend of mine was sanctioned for not turning up for an appointment and the reason he didn't turn up was because it was shut when he got there.
I dont know how the people who impose these sanctions live with themselves. One click of their mouse put my kids in poverty for 6 months.
I'm working full time now but I now work with people with benefit problems. I see the other side of it that the 'happy sanctioner' doesnt see. The kids living in poverty, people being made homeless and such like. Only on the news today it said about families being unable to give their kids breakfast in the mornings. The government cant keep cutting everyones money when there is getting less and less work and then on the other hand wonder why there are kids living in poverty.0 -

I'm sure she was the one who came on here a while ago to ask if it was a good idea to have another kid to avoid going back to work as her eldest was now at school. Think the number at the end of Misspiggy was different though but the posts read (if you can understand them) the sameFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -

Possibly "Why didn't I apply for that job when I said I would"? More likely "Those horrible Jobcentre people, it's all their fault, nothing is ever my fault ..."Charityworker wrote: »I dont know how the people who impose these sanctions live with themselves. No, it does not, you have CTC to ensure the children have food, they should not suffer for your incompetence.0 -

Simple answer is don't have kids unless you can reasonably expect to support them. This includes saving for possible short periods of unemployment.0 -
I don't understand this business about kids going without breakfast. Surely parents can afford a couple of things from a "value" or "basic" supermarket range such as (not all at the same time !) loaf of bread, marg, jam, bag of porridge oats, jumbo box of corn flakes, 2 litre bottle of milk or 6 eggs - a few pence per child per day to send them off to school with full tummies.

People fail to realise looking for work is now a full time job, not just a quick look and send my C.V.
Simple things can make all the difference.
I have seen seven people this week who have all failed to take any steps at all in the last two weeks and I mean nothing at all simply because it was Christmas. As I pointed out I got four days off over the festive period, these people have effectively had a month as they didn't have to sign and provide job search evidence at their last attendance.
Yes these people do deserve to have their benefit sanctioned.0 -

Shame about that. I feel you maybe could have avoided the sanction, or got it superseded - but it's not that easy to write a convincing enough letter to get a Decision Maker to change their mind.
I would have quoted facts and figures showing how much post goes astray - that's unbiased so can't really be argued with. I would have mentioned that there was no evidence that the letter was received and that therefore there was no appointment made. You cannot fail to attend an appointment you haven't been notified of. I would even assert that the letter was probably not posted in the first place. I would also mention that I am not known to be a liar and that therefore my word should be accepted unless it can be shown I am.
I know it's all bit late for you now, Charityworker, and even with some knowledge it can be hard to put forward a convincing argument, but I would urge anyone in a similar position to go all the way to Appeal if necessary to fight the Sanction - sometimes you win.0
