Purchased gift card but showing as locked

I purchased a gift card off ebay just 30 mins ago. Tried to use it online and it says this gift card has been locked. As the gift card was only emailed to me i dont have it in my possession.

I phoned the store who state I have to phone back tomorrow and speak to the retail security team. They wouldnt give me any other details. Please does anyone think this card could be stolen or reported lost.

I have sent numerous messages to seller who replied earlier to my questions before the sale via their ipad and now they seem to be ignoring me. I am worried now that I have lost my money. Any advice please. I am very upset.

Do you need a pin number to activate it - some of them do - and if so did the seller give you the number?

Edit - can you clarify what you mean by the card being emailed to you? Is it just a code like the amazon ones?

I'd wait to either hear back from the seller (30 minutes of an evening is a bit quick to be expecting a reply, even from a reputable seller) or see what's happening with the store tomorrow.
Don't you still have buyer protection from ebay if it all goes pear-shaped, or are vouchers exempt from this?
