Vodafone. Grrr!

Scruffles

I know this is probably my own daft fault, but I just need to vent my frustration on you poor people!
I have had a pay monthly contract with Vodafone for about three years. Last October, it was time for my free upgrade.
I went into the shop and discussed it with the Vodafone staff. I explained that there was a likelihood that I would be taking a job abroad early this year, so I would be cancelling the contract anyway and wouldn't need the upgrade.
I was then told that in such circumstances, if I went ahead with the upgrade, when the time came I could just write to Vodafone and inform them that I am moving away and I need to cancel my contract and there would be no difficulty with doing this.
What a load of pap. I am now in the middle of the complaint process with Otelo (the ombudsman), mainly due to being, in my opinion, mis-sold a contract. I am also going to complain about the Vodafone customer service representative that telephoned me regarding this issue, he spoke to me like I was about 5 years old, he laughed at me, and his closing remarks were "Go to Otelo then. See how far you get". Speaking to a customer in such a way, when it was a member of their own staff that got me into this mess in the first place is unacceptable in my book.

Thought Vodafone were wonderful but then.................husband checked to see why his bills had increased to find they had changed his priceplan, the one that he had signed up for for 18 months. He e-mailed them and the reply was that he had phoned to change the priceplan ! As you've guessed he has never phoned to change the package. So have contacted them again to say they've boobed and awaiting a reply.
Does not bode well me thinks.
How come so many firms are giving a poor service these days0 -

Well, I really hope you do not have the misfortune of dealing with the horrible person that I dealt with, because he made me feel a million times worse. I was willing, and happy, to rejoin Vodafone when I return from abroad, but there's no chance I'll be doing that now! Orange here I come!0 -
if i had said to a customer what the guy in your original post said my feet would not touch the ground.
back when i was with voda my line rental doubled mysteriously and i spent 20 mins on the phone to them explaining you can't have 100 mins and 250 texts and insurance for £50-odd a month on contract, its physically not possible, and some thick sack of **** was going on about that you can and i did!!!
and they sent my phone away, said it was repaired, despite a letter from the repair centre saying they couldn't find the fault and then wouldn't do anything about it when i said
''ok its gone away for software but my pictures are still on there''things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
I trust BH even if he's from Manchester..

Scuffles, sorry to say husband moved from Orange to Vodafone. I'm afraid Orange were even worse. Customer services gave him incorrect advice on using his phone abroad when he went to India and then again when he went to Oz. My husband even phoned up again to double check and still the advice was wrong! Ended up going to Ombudsmen and my husband got all his money back.
As mentioned before does any company provide a good service these days.0 -
They are all as bad as one another. A few years back i had a phone stolen but due to the fact i have short term memory loss i thought I'd out ti down in the house and it would turn up. I received a letter form O2 saying i had high call charges on it, they were all premium rate number at £1.50 a time amounting to just under £400. Straight off i said i haven't made these calls and i didn't have the phone, we had realised by this point that i hadn't out it down it had been taken. Anyway to cut along story short they hadn't added the phone insurance onto the bill when i changed over from business rates to consumer rates and i was called a liar by the guy i was talking to. He said i had made the calls and was trying to get out of paying them. It made me so ill i did pay the bill which i would have done if i had made the calls and demanded they release me from he contract there and then which they did, also they gave me the post code of where the calls were made from, if i had made them then i would been up and down the M6 and practically living on it to have made those calls.0

Well the M6 is a boring place! Premium rates number might keep you sane
sorry bad taste
Anyway i've had awful experiences with orange, but very very good ones with vodafone...
Ended up paying over £10 in calling orange customer services just to get a dam PAK code... (just one of the bad times with orange). When i asked to speak to a supervisor i was told "she'll say the same thing" rofl. When i demanded to speak to her, she was finally put on and refunded me all no problem.
I really have had good experiences with vodafone so I'm sorry you haven'tguess its luck these days? Stupid world

i have just had another letter from wescott credit services asking for about £210 on behalf of vodafone. A few months before this, I had stopped using my phone for a couple of months while i was in the middle of the pacific and out of phone range so they cancelled my contract and charged mr for the privilage. When I got home i called them and they sorted it out but a month later i had my first letter from wescott and it is neverending. They say i owe the money but vodafone say that i dont and wescott only update their information once a month. This all happened over two months ago now so which one is lying??0
