Family Holiday Florida

I think with a family of that age a villa is definitely the way to go. Own rooms, pool and games rooms for a very reasonable price. If you haven't driven before the US is a good place to start, it is really easy. A car will really be beneficial.

For ease of access to the parks try the Sunset Lakes area or Emerald island. Some lovely villas, much better than six of you crammed ina hotel room imo.

I completely agree with this. If you have a villa though, a car is almost a necessity. It probably wouldn't work out more expensive than taxis for 6 of you - you would need 2 taxis if you all go out together.

One of the most important things with US holidays is really good travel insurance as medical fees can be astronomical even for simple treatments. Get it as soon as you pay a deposit so you don't lose if you have to cancel at any point.

Just wanted to add that if you do decide to go down the hotel route, consider a hotel that has suites i.e. Comfort inn & Suites or Parccorniche, some are almost like mini condominiums, and can save you money on eating out all the time.

Also I have stayed on the 192 and International Drive, I for ease of getting around without a car, International Drive is the better option

Thanks once again for the replies, having read all of them, and having spoken to my eldest who offer travels to LA, New Miami, it looks as though I will go down the Villa route, and car hire, having done further research it will be much cheaper and ore comfortable to have a Villa, would still be looking for one where I won’t have to drive too far to the attractions, and stores etc., during my searches on hotel.com, a number of villas come up in the Lake Buena Vista area

Any recommended Villas, which will sleep me and my wife and separate beds for our 4 children.
Will also look on www.thedibb.co.uk website as mentioned in some of the resources

thedibb is a great website. Some of the posters own villas and there is a forum when you can request availability.
