Wow thats shocking! Well done to those who have found all the scams! :T I've entered so many fb comps lately I never know which is genuine or not and how many on my friends lists have fake accounts! I know most of the genuine ones by name on here but I would hate to think someone was using my profile with a fake account! I'll be wary of what I enter in future!

I take it the Identity Jewellers advent comp on FB was a scam too? At the time, compers were pointing out that the names announced as winners hadn't actually commented/liked/shared but now the page has totally disappeared.

This just reminded me - sorry if it's already been discussed

Really interesting thread, I stopped doing like & share comps on FB a while ago, glad I did.

Ive NEVER entered FB comps, shares or likes for this very reason. Just about any Joe Bloggs can pipe up a fake fb comp with safe knowledge they can win it too.

I have been doing less and less of the like and share comps and from now on will avoid but it needs for us all to do this to make a difference I just enter the sweepstakes ones now, its just getting more and more ridiculous with fake prizes and people with fake accounts on FB!

Are you mixing up Steffans with Skillens? Skillens was the one where the winner posted from the companies FB account

There seems to be more and more, - today lawsons, timber, building and fencing supplies announced the winner of the ipad mini competition and dispite the comp going on for weeks and thousands of likes and shares all over the country the winner lives in the same town. If I had the no how to do a bit more fishing, no doubt would uncover the owner related or something.

I sometimes wonder whether small businesses are always going to pick a local person, but never say in their T&Cs.

A magazine local to me always has winners from the local area, but I'm sure they must get a number of entries from outside the area.
