Hello There, I doubt you got a Tortilla maker from India as its Mexicans that do Tortilla ;-) You must have bought something else.

If you post a picture here, then at least we can see what machine it is.

Your first name is Thomas rather than Alan and I claim the £5.00. Why shouldn't OP have bought one in India?

    Cheers

Is that suggestion a reflection of the quality of your dumplings? :D

Perhaps I know a bit about cooking and I am guessing the OP has bought a machine for making a popular Indian food that looks like a Tortilla but is not one :D

It's a bit like seeing a petrol powered car and buying a diesel one and filling it with petrol and wondering why it doesn't work :rotfl:

    Got it?

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I guess you bought this. I dare not look at the price you paid for that piece of equipment  But you could try flattening the dough ball slightly in the palm of your hand before putting it in the chapathi maker, it might prevent the tortilla from slipping.

Perhaps OP has. Perhaps guesswork isn't that much of a virtue and if he wants to call it a tortilla why shouldn't he?

No its not thats entirely different. The same machine can be used to make chapatis, tortillas or rotis. Got it?
