Charged £150 for being £108 overdrawn?

Hi,
I was paid this morning and logged onto internet banking to check my wages had gone in, which they had.
At the end of play last night, I was £606 overdrawn. I have an agreed £500 o/d limit, so I was £106 over my overdraft limit.
There was a warning that charges were due to be applied to my account. So when I looked what the charges would be, they are £150.
How can they charge me £150 for being £108 overdrawn? I
Can I stop them taking the money out of my account on 30th April?
My account is in credit now my wages have gone in.
N.B - I started reclaiming charges (£1800) against them at the beginning of this month, I don't suppose they would be charging me extra spitefully as I have started proceedings?
Can anyone give me any advice as to where I stand legally and if there is anything I can do in this to stop the money going out and question why the charges are so enormous?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
