The problem may well have been caused by Eon's meter operator incorrectly tellings Spow's meter operator that you have a ppm. This needs to be resolved otherwsie the issue will just continue regardless of who your supplier is.

  • Had a call from David (SP rep, above) today, only an hour or so after I emailed - was much more helpful and was the first person from SP to actually sound like someone employed to deal with customers (as opposed to the the four or five other people I'd dealt with up until then, who were inept). Am more confident this might get sorted out now. Will let you know, cheers everyone.
  • Since the last post I waited over a week to be called back before calling up again myself. I got through to someone new, explained the situation once again, and asked the questions I still hadn't had answers to.

I wasn't told why I had kept being promised call backs and answers and not had any, but was told that it would take until February to get my account onto the plan I had originally selected via Uswitch in October...

I was also told that as I had built up a gas debt (on a pre-pay account!) of over £250, my new direct debit would be over £150 a month.

I've been promised a call back (another one!) next week once my account has been switched, and a vague promise to look into some form of compensation. I'm not holding my breath, but am looking into the competing plans of other suppliers. This has been such a shambles I'll be happy to pay off my balance and switch away, and based on how they've been so far I'm not optimistic that what they will say next week (if they call back) will be enough to make me stay, but you never know, I'll update once I hear back...
